The Organization Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) says that symptomatology can be detected in early childhood . However it can be difficult to detect in early children impulsivity, inattentiveness and active behaviour due to the expected and natural motor development of a toddler.
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) symptoms are presented in three forms:
Inattentive symptoms
Unable to follow instructions
Lack of attention to details
Difficulty to pay and maintain attention
Disorganised
Avoidance of mental effortful tasks
Easily distracted
Forgetful about daily tasks
Hyperactive symptoms
Difficulty to remain seated
Unable to engage quietly in tasks
Very fast talker
Tendency to interrupt others
ADHD combined
And individual can present symptoms of both presentations
